A weekend in Mallorca can leave room for a beach afternoon, a day out and a dinner show booked ahead. Start with your flight times, then choose the evening when you have enough time to enjoy the meal and entertainment.
If you are staying in Playa de Palma, use it as the base for your evenings. For a Friday-to-Sunday break, keep Friday flexible after arrival, plan a beach day or a visit to Palma on Saturday, then return for a seafront walk and dinner with live entertainment. Leave Sunday morning free for breakfast, checkout and your journey home.
You can move this plan to suit your travel dates or add another daytime outing if you have three days.
Mallorca in two days: choose one main daytime outing
Start with your arrival and departure times. Two nights on the island do not always mean two full days, especially if you arrive late on Friday or fly home early on Sunday.
For your full day, choose between time on the beach and an outing such as a visit to Palma's old town. Trying to combine several distant stops with a dinner reservation makes the evening harder to enjoy.
If you head out for the day, leave time to return to your accommodation, shower and change. Put your main evening booking on the night with the most room around it, rather than immediately after landing.
Your first evening in Playa de Palma
Use your arrival night to get your bearings. After checking in, take a short seafront walk if daylight and the weather allow, then choose dinner near your accommodation. Keep this evening easy to adjust if your journey takes longer than expected.
If you book a table for your arrival night, ask how long it will be held if you are late and keep the venue's contact details handy.
Your main evening in Playa de Palma
When choosing things to do in Playa de Palma before dinner, start with the beach and seafront promenade. Take a walk, stop for a drink if you want one, then leave enough time to reach your table without hurrying.
Check sunset time for your travel dates if you want daylight photos or a walk as the light changes. Sunset will not necessarily fit neatly before dinner throughout the year. In cooler or wet weather, shorten the outdoor part and make your booked meal the centre of the evening.
At Tabana, we combine dining, live performances and a later DJ after-party at Avinguda de Son Rigo, 4, in Playa de Palma. Our regular opening hours are 20:00 to 02:00, giving you room to make the evening your main plan after a day out.
This can suit a short break because you do not need to arrange separate dinner and entertainment venues. Give the meal and performances time, rather than fitting another booking immediately afterwards.
Before choosing your date, look at the events calendar and food menu. Ask which programme is running on your evening, when to arrive and whether any date-specific booking conditions apply. The right plan depends on the actual booking, particularly for a special event.
Check the booking details before your weekend
A useful restaurant reservation answers more than “Is there a table?” Before confirming, check these details:
- The correct date, arrival time and number of guests.
- Dietary requirements and allergy questions.
- Any deposit, cancellation terms or minimum spend that applies to your booking.
- What is included in any event or package you select.
- Seating or access requirements that the team needs to know about.
For friends travelling separately, agree on the headcount before reserving. If someone is arriving later, ask how that affects the booking. A few clear answers before the trip can save you from sorting out practical details at the table.
Plan the return journey as well as the dinner
Check the route between your accommodation and the venue, even if both addresses say Playa de Palma. Being in the same area does not automatically mean a short walk.
If you are using public transport, look up the current return timetable for your travel date before deciding how late to stay. If you prefer a taxi, agree on the pickup location and how your group will travel together. Keep the next morning's departure in mind when choosing your finishing time.
Leave your final morning manageable
On Sunday, plan around checkout, luggage and your flight rather than another long list of stops. Breakfast and a seafront walk may fit better than an outing that leaves little time to return.
If you have three days, use the extra day for another outing or more time by the beach. You can keep one evening for a longer dinner and show, with the other left open for a quieter meal.
